Art Suite

This is the largest and most important suite in the villa with a magnificent view of the city of Taormina, the volcano Etna, and the Gulf of Naxos. It is furnished with rare, perfectly preserved 18th-century Sicilian furniture and paintings by famous early 20th-century painters. The suite consists of an entrance hall, a bedroom, a living room with a piano, a larger living room with a sofa bed, and two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bathtub, the latter designed and built in 1941 for the commander of the German occupation troops in Italy, Federmareschal Albert Konrad Kesselring.

It has been the chamber of many artists, famous art critics, presidents of the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Watercolour Society of Art, Royal Society of Art painters, magistrates and writers. Among the many are Sir Alfred East, Sir Frank Brangwyn, Alfred Barr Jr, Salvador Dali, Cecil Hunt and Pablo Picasso.

. The room was restored in 2024. On 22 March 2021, the paintings and antique furniture in this room were declared an Italian National Cultural Heritage. The room has all the modern comforts (high-speed Wifi with optical fiber, central heating, independent heating, piano, minibar, telephone, satellite TV system, Bang & Olufsen Audio-Video system, safe).
